Insta-faves

In case you're unaware, Instagram is a smartphone app that lets users edit and post cool, vintage-filtered photos to share with the world. Both Ali and I have been down with Insgram since the app first launched. We both found that it can be an inspiring, easy to use tool to communicate with friends, family and "fans" the world over.

We decided pretty early on after we began blogging about our experience as first-time homeowners that having a 2 Sisters Instagram was a great idea; especially when it came to sharing the amazing vintage finds we hunt down.

So our Instragram has been up for a few weeks and already we've made some new friends. Here's a sneak peak of some of the stuff we've been sharing. Keep reading the blog to see where some of these great pieces end up. And, of course, don't forget to subscribe to our Instragram feed!

This $3.00 cork lamp was discovered in a tiny, filthy thrift store near Alpena, Michigan on a family trip "Up North." Paired with a $6.00 navy shade from the Target clearance section, this one will light up the buffet in my dining room.

This bevvy of treasures was Ali's finds one one particularly great shopping day at Mega Mall, an amzing antiques market in the Lansing, Michigan area. She discovered a set of four turquoise and gold souvenir hi-ball glasses, a vintage metal globe bank, a larger globe on wood base--Ali collects vintage globes obviously--and an awesome Brownie 8mm camera. Ali also collects cameras. You can see more of her collection gracing her living rooms shelves

These amazing set of six Thonet cafe-style chairs in good condition had me absolutely apoplectic. Thonet chairs are highly sought-after. Just take a gander at the prices they go for on eBay. They were priced unbelievably low, though I couldn't spare any extra cash at the time. Ali and Mom surprised me by buying the set for me on the sly as a birthday/housewarming gift. They now sit at my dining table and I couldn't be happier about it. My family is THE BEST!

I'm in love with this brass bar cart. It was a steal for $15.00 (50% off) from a St. Vincent DePaul I happened to wander into while my Realtor was late for our appointment. It needs a little love. Both glass shelves are chipped and it's filthy, but it still would've ben a steal at three times the price!

I am insanely jealous of Ali's newest thrift store find: This $8.00 marble-based 'Merican eagle lamp. It looks incredible in her living room. Let freedom ring.

Orange you totally jealous of this desk chair I scored from Craigslist? You should be. I'm sitting in in right now and it's COMFY. Comfy and incredible stylish. And a real find for $20.00. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

See you all on the 'Gram!
