Friday Favorites: Great picks for patriotic style

Happy Independence Day!

In honor of America's 238th birthday, here's some inspiring style that reminds of us to be proud of where we're from... even it's only in pillow form.

This 16x24 print from takOdesignstudio is subtle and classic. Imagine it in a chunky black frame as part of a gallery wall display.

Eclectic American kitsch at it's happiest is displayed in this cozy family den.

Speaking of kitsch, this not-so-subtle badass eagle wall decor plaque thing from Target is the right kind of wrong.

This boy's room featured in D Magazine quite possibly belongs to the luckiest kid in America. Call it Founding Fathers Funky Treehouse. A storybook come to life.

The pillow is awesome. If it wasn't $81.00, I might already own it. I sense a DIY iron-on pillow project in my near future. But if you've got the duckets, check it out on Houzz.

This relaxed, nautical kids' room from House & Home is a great start for a grown-up guest room--minus the toys. Classic American tones with a less extreme 'Americana' viewpoint. At seagifts.com, you can buy a 30-foot string of nautical flags for about $70.00 to get you started.

This inexpensive magnet set by BlueCrabMagnets is a small way to remember your patriotic duty when go to grab that third (or fifth) can of beer.

At just $1.50 for a digital download from geekryprints, this retro-style print is inexpensive patriotism (the best kind) with a great color palette. Use it as a jumping-off-point for a whole room.

See? Not a hint of the Grand Old Flag needed.

Have a great holiday weekend. Cheers!
